Entanglement entropy and conformal field theory

I will first define Von Neumann and Re’nyi quantum entanglement entropy in quantum systems. Then I will review some known results around the quantum entanglement entropy of discrete free quantum systems. In the second half of the talk after giving a pedagogical review of basic facts around conformal field theory (CFT) I will concentrate on the basic method of calculating entanglement entropy in CFT by using twist operators. The final part of the talk will be around our recent results on the entanglement entropy of two disjoint intervals based on conformal block expansion technique.
