Thomas Portet, who has defended his PhD thesis at the LPT in September 2010, was awarded the young scientist prize of the Fondation Bettencourt-Schueller (25000€ to participate to the funding of his postdoc at the University of Washington, Seattle, starting in January 2011), for his work on the electropermeabilization of membranes. His PhD advisors are David S. Dean (PhyStat group) et Marie-Pierre Rols (IPBS).

Moreover, David Schwandt, a third year PhD student in the FFC group at LPT (Adv. Fabien Alet and Matthieu Mambrini) received the 2nd PhD Prize Doc’Innov of the Université de Toulouse (3 prizes awarded among more than 50 submitted files) for his work on exotic magnetic phases.

Congratulation to both of them, and to their advisors!
