Relativistic simulations in quantum optics and circuit QED

I will discuss different methods for implementing quantum simulations of relativistic quantum mechanics in quantum optics and circuit QED. We will concentrate, in particular, in the simulation of the Dirac equation and the observation of the Zitterbewegung physics, the jittering motion of a free relativistic quantum particle. We will establish analogies and differences between quantum optical and circuit QED setups in the light of potential further developments in relativistic quantum simulations.
