Critical Temperature Curve and Thermodynamics in BEC-BCS crossover

Evgeny Burovskiy (LPTMS, Orsay)

par Pierre Pujol - 10 février 2009

The strongly correlated regime of the crossover from Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer pairing to Bose-Einstein condensation can be realized by diluting a system of two-component fermions with a short-range attractive interaction. Theoretical studies of this strongly correlated regime are difficult since there system possesses no small parameter. We investigate this system via a novel continuous-space-time diagrammatic determinant Monte Carlo method and determine the universal curve $T_c/E_F$ for the transition temperature between the normal and the superfluid states as a function of the scattering length. We also determine the (universal) thermodynamic functions at unitarity and discuss the relate our findings to current experiments with cold atoms.
