About me :
I am a PhD student at the Laboratoire de Physique Theorique(CNRS), Toulouse, France. Working in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics, specifically on Quantum magnetism in 2D, under the guidance of Dr. Didier Poilblanc. I completed my M.Sc in Physics from the Department of Physics of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India.
My Master’s thesis was on "Study of the spectrum of scalar Laplacian on five dimensional Sasaki Einstein manifolds", carried out under the supervision of Dr. Suresh Govindarajan. I did my B.Sc Physics from University of Delhi.
Centres d’intérêt / Research Interests :
Quelques mots clefs / Some keywords :
Systèmes d’électrons fortements corrélés / Strongly correlated electronic systems,
Spins quantiques frustrés en basse dimension / Low dimensional frustrated quantum spin systems,
Approche numérique / Numerical approach.
My research focuses primarily on studying the Ground State of S=1/2 Heisenberg Antiferromagnet on the Kagome Lattice(see image on the left), this lattice is an example of one which has a highly frustrated geometry and low coordination number, the combination of both of these factors leads to emergence of exotic quantum phases of matter with novel properties and materials such as Herbertsmithite actually have these geometries.
Various candidates have been proposed as the ground state of the QHAF on Kagome lattice, among the the Dirac Spin liquid is a promising candidate.
We here in the FFC group are studying different theoretical models using various numerical/analytical approaches in light of recent experiments done on Herbertsmithite.
