Interfaces in critical spin models and their description in terms of stochastic growth processes

Raoul SANTACHIARA

par Didier Poilblanc - 27 novembre 2007

The Shramm-Loewner evolution (SLE) is a stochastic growth process which describes fractal shapes in 2D critical models. This approach has provided some rigorous mathematical results and unveiled new properties in the geometrical description of phase transition. In this talk I will discuss some of the basic ideas behind this approach which combines the probability theory, the complex analysis and the quantum field theory. I will then present some SLE interfaces which can be defined in a family of lattice spin models which includes the Ising model and the three-states Potts model.
