Frustration in classical statistical mechanics systems is the phenomenon where geometry and interactions conspire to deny the system a unique global ground state. At zero temperature one thus retains a non trivial ensemble, possibly with strange and unexpected properties. Studying such systems, however, pose quite a technical problem. I will present one approach to study them based on tensor networks, that I will argue are uniquely suited for this type of problem. Examples will include water-ice, dimers, and longer range Ising models on the Kagome lattice.
