The Quantum Dynamics of Mean-Field Spin Glasses

Chris Baldwin (Université du Maryland)

par Revaz Ramazashvili - 5 juillet 2022

Spin glasses have long been studied for their anomalously slow dynamics and intricate equilibrium structure. Most attention has been paid, both for classical and quantum systems, to the behavior in the presence of a thermal bath --- in this talk, by contrast, we describe our investigations into the *Hamiltonian* dynamics of quantum (infinite-range) spin glasses, using the transverse-field p-spin model as a representative example. In addition to the rich dynamical phase diagram, we discuss how the quantum dynamics of this system relates to a diverse range of topics, from holography to chaos to quantum computing.
