Dynamical Griffiths singularities

José A. Hoyos (Université de São Paulo, Brésil)

par Revaz Ramazashvili - 19 avril 2022

We investigate the effects of impurities on the unitary evolution of an interacting quantum system after a quench. For a large variety of quench protocols, the impurities become locally highly excited while the bulk practically remains in its ground state. As a consequence, the system’s early-times dynamics is dominated by the impurities and new dynamical quantum phase transitions appear. Finally, we interpret our results as a dynamical analog of the Griffiths singularities in equilibrium thermodynamics.
