The goal of this book is to offer an approach of the physics of finite many-body fermion systems through simple and generic models illustrating the basic mechanisms at work and applicable to a large variety of systems in physics and chemistry (atoms, molecules, nuclei, clusters). The text is written by considering increasingly complex models. Complementary elements, in particular numerical ones, are provided in the form of generic programs given on a CD-ROM in complement of the body of the text.
