Quantum non-Markovianity and classical chaos

Ignacio García-Mata (CONICET, Mar del Plata, Argentina)

par Gabriel LeMarié - 23 avril 2013

In quantum open systems there are many situations that can be described by assuming that the coupling to an environment is weak and that the correlations in the environment decay in time scales much smaller than any other. This is usually called Markovian evolution. Nevertheless there is an ever increasing interest in systems where this approximation does not hold. We use quantum maps as model environments that can be tuned from regular to chaotic and study the effects of the underlying classical dynamics on the Markovian approximation.
